About Me

My name is Mr. Rodriguez, and I teach Agricultural Mechanics, Ag Equipment and Metal Fabrication, and Blinn Dual-Credit Welding at Weimar ISD. I graduated from Texas A&M in 2012 and have over 10 years of teaching experience. My goal is to provide students with hands-on experience that prepares them for careers in agriculture, welding, fabrication, and skilled trades through project-based learning and FFA involvement.

Program Highlights

Students in this program gain hands-on experience in welding, metal fabrication, equipment operation, shop safety, project design, and agricultural mechanics. Students also have opportunities to participate in FFA events, shop projects, and career-focused learning.

Classroom Expectations & Required PPE

Shop Expectations

  • Be respectful to others, tools, and equipment
  • Follow all shop safety procedures at all times
  • Stay on task and maintain a clean work area
  • Horseplay and unsafe behavior will not be tolerated
  • Students must be properly dressed before entering the shop

Required PPE & Dress Code

  • Leather work boots/shoes required
  • No Hey Dudes or tennis shoes allowed in the shop
  • Long sleeve work shirt required
  • Jeans with no holes required
  • Welding caps required during welding activities

Optional Recommended Equipment

The following equipment is optional for students to purchase. A class set will be available for student use during shop activities.

  • Welding gloves
  • Welding hood
  • Safety glasses
