Kristin Herzik

Today is the day to learn something new!  I am Kristin Herzik, and I can’t wait to learn with you during our year together in 4th grade.  I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and I moved to Texas in 2000. In 2008, I married Ben Herzik and together we have two handsome sons.  I studied Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Houston, earning certification to teach EC-6th grades. My true passion is teaching Science and Social Studies!

When I’m not running my boys to football, baseball, basketball, golf, or swim team, you can find me helping with St. Rose functions or traveling with my family.  There is no greater joy than seeing the world through the eyes of children, so we travel as often as possible exploring new adventures! I believe that every child has a uniqueness that should be appreciated and nurtured while learning in my classes, during recess, and all the times between.  I can’t wait to share an amazing year with you!

Cara Janecka

Questions: Who is part of the coolest grade ever? YOU! And, who is extremely excited to have you in class this year? ME!

My name is Cara Janecka. I grew up just down the road in La Grange, Texas. I lived a few miles out of town and loved living in the country with my parents and older sister.

I graduated from La Grange High School in 2005 (wow, that was a loooong time ago!). After high school, my educational journey took me to Blinn, and from there I transferred to Texas A&M to become an Aggie-- Class of 2009--Whoop! I graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies majoring in Math and Science. I am certified to teach 4th-8th grades Math and Science & EC-6th grades Generalist, and ESL & G/T students.

I student taught at Weimar Junior High and fell in love with our town! Go Wildcats!!! I began teaching at Weimar Elementary in 2010 and I have loved it for the past 12 years....going on 13!!!

The same year I began teaching, I married my husband Jack! I am a mom of four: Frank 9, Jesse 7, and Henry 5 and Vivian. They definitely keep me busy, but when I do have some free time, I love to refinish furniture from garage sales, grow succulent plants, visit rivers, cruise our pasture on our golf cart and go swimming!

Teaching math is my passion. I can not wait to go on this journey with you this school year!

Your Teacher,
Mrs. Cara Janecka
