Today, we're taking a closer look at Proposition A and sharing conceptual renderings of the facility improvements proposed as part of the November 3, 2026, Weimar ISD Bond Election!
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN PROPOSITION A?
Wildcat Works & Career Technical Education — Wildcat Works, a student-operated storefront designed to bring our Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs together in a real-world business environment! The vision is to create a community-facing retail space where students can showcase, market, and sell products they create through their CTE classes. Additionally, this bond creates a new welding shop, new culinary arts facilities, a health science lab and floral design labs, and expanded opportunities for hands-on career preparation.
New Gymnasium & Band Facilities — A new gymnasium with concessions and restrooms, continued use of the current gym for practice and auxiliary activities, and additional space for our band program.
Campus Renovations — Updated hallways, restrooms, flooring, lighting, signage, and exterior improvements at our Elementary and High School campuses.
Safer, More Efficient Traffic Flow — Expanded Elementary drop-off areas and covered canopy, improved Junior High pickup and drop-off routes, and additional parking improvements.
Safety & Security — Renovated security vestibules and campus entrance improvements at the High School and Elementary.
💰 NO PROJECTED INCREASE TO THE WISD TAX RATE!
Through careful financial planning and the early repayment of previous bond debt, the district projects these improvements can be accomplished without increasing Weimar ISD's total tax rate. Texas law requires school bond ballots to include the statement "THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE."
📣 UPCOMING COMMUNITY Q&A SESSIONS!
We will be providing opportunities for our community to ask questions, learn more about the proposed projects, and discuss the financial details of the bond election.
📅 Monday, October 19 @ 5:00pm in the WISD Cafetorium prior to the Board Meeting (We will provide a Q/A along with some renderings)
📅 Monday, October 26 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Come and Go Event in the WISD Cafetorium.

On National Coaches Day, we’re celebrating our Weimar ISD coaches for the time, heart, and dedication they pour into our Wildcats and Ladycats.
You teach more than the fundamentals of a sport—you teach students how to work hard, be accountable, support their teammates, and bounce back when things don’t go their way.
Thank you for the early mornings, late nights, extra repetitions, and words of encouragement. Thank you for celebrating the progress that never shows up in the stats and for seeing potential in students before they see it in themselves.
The lessons you teach about discipline, teamwork, and perseverance matter long after the season ends.

Our October Wildcat Wonder Lab is ready to move, wiggle, and create! Students will build their own mini Scribble Bots and watch as their creations use motors, markers, and plenty of imagination to make one-of-a-kind artwork.
