Message from the District
2011-2012

Weimar Independent School District will always strive to be the best.  Our mission is to nurture academic excellence for all students and demonstrate leadership in character development.  Students' potential will be maximized in order to grow life-long learners and productive citizens.

Weimar schools afford students the opportunity to be involved in various activities that prepare them to be great scholars and citizens.   We teach the students that hard work, honesty, respect, and determination are as important in the school setting as the subject matter itself.

Well rounded students can handle the difficult challenges that appear on the path of life.  Success should always be measured by the preparation and effort that every individual brings to the competition.  We encourage all our students to participate in extra-curricular activities to instill the pride associated with representing our school and community.

Parents are encouraged to take an active role in setting goals for their children.  Expectations for attendance, grades, conduct, and involvement should be topics of discussion.  This should be a great time in your child's life, so take advantage of every opportunity for positive involvement.

Every parent has the opportunity to monitor their child's progress through the "Parent Portal".  Updated grades are posted every Wednesday, so that parents can acknowledge success and address potential problems.  It can be accessed through the district web-site as codes are distributed from each campus.

The district utilizes the school messenger phone system which allows administrators, teachers, and sponsors to communicate with parents. Information about planned activities, schedule changes, and early dismissals are examples of the messages that will be disbursed.

As the Superintendent, my door is always open and I appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.  My decisions will always be based on the best interest of the students.
